2014 - Full Distance Team

7EmiratesRun, in partnership with Al Jalila Foundation, is back! Participants will run 575
kilometers across the UAE in 12 days [from 21 November 2014 to 2 December 2014] to raise funds to
help children back on their feet.

Wendelin Lauxen

Germany

7ER ultra marathon will be lead by Wendelin Lauxen, 52 years young German, who is based in Dubai as the Managing Director of German Limbtech, clinic for prosthetic, orthotic and compression therapy in DHCC.

He´s the founder of the 7 Emirates Run in 2010, finished the 7EmiratesRun, 575 km, in 12 days and wants to share the run this year with others again for a good cause.

Wendelin is the Guinness World Record Holder of the World Record „Fastest time to complete a marathon on each of the 7 continents“ and he broke this record twice in 2012. www.wendelinlauxen.com

He dedicated the World Record as a gift to the UAE and the DHCC Community.

His mission is to „Run to Help children back on their feet“ and he enjoys to combine his runs and his work as healthcare professional with charity activities.

Aida Othman

New Zealand

A Kuala Lumpur born with permanence residence of New Zealand, she makes Dubai as her home base since 2009. 

An avid runner and enjoy competing, she has completed a number of various races in long-distance running from half-marathons, marathons and ultra-marathons in Spain (Ultima Frontera), Oman (Wadi Bih solo), Turkey (Iznik Ultra), and Comrades South Africa. In 2013, she came 3rd in the 7 Emirates Run.

A qualified chartered accountant and experience in financial services, Aida aims to encourage others in active lifestyle and use sport as tool to empower woman. Outside running she enjoys traveling, exploring culture, history  and food.

Sheikh Mansoor Ali

India

Mansoor aged 40 years old UAE resident and Indian citizen, residing and working in UAE since last 14 years. An Oracle ERP Functional Consultant by profession. During my university time I became actively involved in sports specially running and soccer. Since coming to Dubai got actively involved in soccer, played various league matches for the corporate team and also got certified for English FA Foundation Coaching Course in soccer.

After a long gap re-started my running career one year back with Dubai Road Runners. Since then have been actively participating in most of the running events being held in UAE. Had a long time craving to participate in ultra marathon event for a specific cause and 7Emirates Run proved to be the right opportunity to fulfill this dream.

Presently have been participating in most of the 10 K runs but have plans to run more marathon events as the running career advances further.

Servee Palmans

Netherlands

Servee is a 46-year old Dutch national from Maastricht with international hospitality and most recent operational educational experience. A globetrotter and expatriate since 1991. He has lived in Bahrain, UK, UAE, Egypt, and is since 2001 back in Dubai. 

He enjoys endurance running & cycling, with the occasional triathlon. Servee has completed an ironman 70.3, 4 marathons, and a dozen half-marathons, and of course the 7ER in 2013. He actively runs with the Dubai Road Runners and cycles with Cycle Safe Dubai. 

His wife Helle and teenage daughter Anne are swim-fanatics, while his teenage son Max enjoys a combination of swimming, running, and soccer.

Humayun Aslam

Pakistan

I am Humayun Aslam. I belong to Pakistan. I had a professional career in Pakistan and i had been working there as a journalist and gave best time of my life and i did good with my profession.

I have been in Dubai for the last 10 years and working as facility supervisor in Majid al Futaim Company.

I have been fulfilling the required duties of job but my additional motive is sportmanship. I m the organizer as well as member of sports and Wellbeing Committee and i myself is fond of taking part as well as i have united my collegues in this art. I have organized many sport events in my company and have given them this spirit.

I have been participating in 50 10 km and 4 Half Marathon race for last couple of years and now looking farward and next target is to accomplish the 7 emirates run. Our purpose is to promote health and do help the deserving kids.

I hope you would take part with me to give a concrete shape to my abstract dream.

Marlon Elaurza

Philippines

I have been a resident of Dubai since 2006.

I joined the Dubai Road Runners in 2012 and quickly succumbed to the endurance life style.

Since then I have done several races including half marathons and full marathons locally and international. Becoming an athlete inspired me to get involved in events for charity cause.

Last year I did a Kilimanjaro trek to raise funds for underprivileged children in Tanzania sponsored by Emirates NBD. This year, I will be taking part in 7 Emirates Run to help children get back on their feet with Emirates NBD as my main sponsor.

I plan to move to triathlon within 2 years and be able to participate more on charity challenge.

Ekhman Mahmud

Malaysia

The Malay born runner came to Dubai after spending more than a decade in New Zealand and 2.5 years in Australia. A qualified chartered accountant with vast commercial experience in travel and FMCG. Currently working in Business Strategy for Travelport Intl.

He enjoys the passion of long distance running, with few marathons run under his belt and recent achievement of 50km Annapurna Trail run in Nepal.

Happily married, an All Black loyal supporter and love for travel and to see the world.
